LH Dept. Repairs 26 Garbage Filter Gates

Jakarta Environment (LH) Dept. does minor repairs towards 26 garbage filter gates this year.

We want to ensure all garbage filter gates in Jakarta can be functioned well

Jakarta Water Dept.'s Cleaning UPK Head, Yayat Supriatna said, it is done to replace broken components besides machine, conveyor, electric panel, and repair on rotary screen.

"Recently we have entered rainy season and we want to ensure all garbage filter gates in Jakarta can be functioned well," he conveyed, Monday (12/17).

According to this year's plan, almost all garbage filter gates are mostly repaired. It only remains two garbage filter gates that still need to be repaired.

"We immediately test out the garbage filter gates after repair process to ensure whether it can be functioned properly or not," he stated.

Jakarta LH Dept.'s Goods/Services Procurement Officer, Lukman Dermanto said, most garbage filter gates in Jakarta are built before 2010 and neither of its component nor machine spare parts are replaced.

"This year we have allocated budget around Rp 69 billion to do repair in 26 locations. While a little trap located near Cililitan Wholesale Center will be repaired next year," he added.

According to him, gates should be functioned well to ensure no litter in the pump houses since it can damage the pumps.

"If garbage gets in, it can be stuck and can block the tunnel," he asserted.
